Thank you for your interest in interning with the Nevada Office of State Epidemiology (OSE).

The Office of State Epidemiology is part of the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health and works to protect and improve the health of Nevada communities through disease surveillance, outbreak response, epidemiologic investigations, public health informatics, data analysis, prevention programs, policy development, and collaboration with local, state, and federal partners.

OSE offers students and emerging public health professionals the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of public health disciplines, including disease investigation, epidemiology, health informatics, outbreak response, grant-funded programs, policy and legislation, data management, and health communications. Interns may also have opportunities to work alongside epidemiologists, disease investigators, public health analysts, and other professionals across the agency.

Current internships are hybrid and unpaid. However, many successful interns have transitioned into full-time public health careers following graduation. Internship opportunities may be available in both our Reno and Las Vegas office locations.
